Keystone College Awarded State Grant for Apprenticeship Program, Says Pickett
March 13, 2020
HARRISBURG – Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) today announced Keystone College in Factoryville, Wyoming County, has been awarded state grant funding to enhance its early childhood education apprenticeship program.
The $173,841 grant was made available through the PAsmart Apprenticeship Grant Program, administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
“This is another example of how we can target state funds to prepare students with the skills needed by growing businesses in our region and across the Commonwealth,” said Pickett. “This program combines classroom education with on-the-job training that provides students with valuable hands-on experience while earning a paycheck.”
Specifically, the grant will be used by Keystone College to expand its early childhood education apprenticeship program to serve up to 25 students in 2020 through 2022.
A total of $6.5 million in PAsmart grants were awarded to 25 apprenticeship programs statewide.
