Bradford County Historical Society Awarded State Grant, Says Pickett

HARRISBURG – Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) today announced that the Bradford County Historical Society has been awarded a Cultural and Historical Support Grant in the amount of $4,000 by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC).

“Bradford County has a rich history and this grant will allow the local historical society to continue the important work of preserving it for future generations,” said Pickett. “Keeping a record of our past is so important and I am pleased the society was approved for this funding.”

The goal of the program is to strengthen the Commonwealth’s museum community by supporting the general operations of eligible museums and official county historical societies that are not supported by other state agency funding programs.

The PHMC approved almost $2 million in Cultural and Historical Support Grants to 153 eligible museums and historical societies from 58 counties.
