Tina Pickett, who has earned a reputation as an outstanding public servant, began her first term as state representative of the 110th Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives with the commencement of the 2001-2002 legislative session.
Pickett previously served as a Bradford County Commissioner, a position she held from 1996 to 2000.
She has held many other public service positions, including being a board member of the Area Agency on Aging, the Northern Tier Regional Planning Commission and the Endless Mountains Tourism Board. Additionally, she serves on the Wysox Municipal Sewer Authority and was formerly the president of the Central Bradford Chamber of Commerce. Tina is further involved in her community by being past president and member of the Towanda Lions Club; and has served vice president of partners in Family and Community Development; as a board member of the Bradford County Young Men’s Christian Association; and a Guthrie Healthcare trustee.
Pickett currently serves on the following House of Representative committees: Agriculture & Rural Affairs, Minority Policy Committee, Transportation and Consumer Affairs. Tina is a member of the Local Tax Reform Caucus, Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus, Autism Caucus, Renewable Energy Caucus, Penn State Forum, Rural Health Caucus, Firefighters & Emergency Services Caucus and she also serves on the Small Business Advocacy Council, and the
Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. Additionally, she serves as a Deputy Whip for the Republican Caucus.
In November 2005, Pickett was appointed by the speaker of the house to serve as his majority appointee to the Center for Rural Pennsylvania. In August 2006, Pickett was appointed by the chairman of the Center for Rural Pennsylvania, Sen. John R. Gordner, as vice chairman of the board of directors. The Center for Rural Pennsylvania is a bipartisan, joint legislative agency that serves as a resource for developing rural policy within the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
She also brings to the table extensive business experience. Pickett founded and operated the Fireplace Restaurant for 23 years and the Williamston Inn in Wysox for 25 years.
Pickett resides in Towanda, and she has one daughter, Lynne.
